Beyond Singing...

on 27 February 2012 - 10:09am

I am literally enchanted by the BEAUTIFUL singing and chanting of Beyond, the spiritual recording from Tina Turner, Dechen Shak-Dagsay and Regula Curti. A perfect mix of Christian songs and various [POWERFUL] Buddhists mantras and chants, it is the most harmonic, peaceful and gifted music I own... if you haven't experienced it yet, you must.

I've begun to chant the Daimoku {Nam Myoho Renge Kyo} and to learn the Gongyo.

As always, I'm journeying... experiencing the present and listening. Responding to the spirit "nudge" telling me to dig deeper into my practice. To connect with a Sangha.

Living The Dharma

on 29 September 2011 - 11:35am

For a long, long time I believed I'd somehow *stumbled* upon The Dharma Path and was an "accidental" Buddhist.

Sheesh! Could I have been more wrong?!

The Dharma saved me and finding the path was no accident — it was my destiny.

I think of how conflicted I was and how nothing in my life made sense. All the years I spent chasing "happiness" and "satisfication" outside myself, ONLY to return to the EXACT same place I'd started.

My soul was at war with — well, me.

Am I the perfect Buddhist today or the Bodhisattva I long to be? Hell no!:-)

I have a loonnnnggg way to go!

Loving Kindness: 05.20.98 A Letter From My Mama...

on 28 August 2011 - 4:43pm

With Mom in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's Disease, I'm blessed to have an assortment of beautiful cards and encouraging notes as a permanent reminder of how motherly and supportive she really was.

Though the circumstance that preempted this message has long since passed, her words written some 13 years ago, are especially fitting today - and even more precious.

I'm grateful for a Mother who loved me deeply and unconditionally.

May Mom be well.
May Mom feel protected and safe.
May Mom feel pleased and content.
May her physical body support her.
May her life unfold smoothly with ease.

Auspicious Victory Banner {Flowing With Ease!}

on 21 August 2011 - 3:05am

8 Auspicious Symbols ~ Victory Banner symbolises the victory of the activities of one's own and others body, speech and mind over obstacles and negativitities. It also stands for the complete victory of the Buddhist Doctrine over all harmful and pernicious forces.

I prayed for a miracle.
I received a miracle.
Now with renewed purpose and ever awakening compassion, I MUST get BUSY!

Auspicious Golden Fish {How I'm Stroking Today!}

on 18 August 2011 - 6:42pm

The Golden Fish symbolises the auspiciousness of all living beings in a state of fearlessness, without danger of drowning in the ocean of sufferings, and migrating from place to place freely and spontaneously, just as fish swim freely without fear through water.

Friends, please offer prayers and meditations for my family this day...

Namaste.
